RE: [bowelcleanse] Sandy, and anybody else!

Hi Sandy,

Thanks for all the info. I really appreciate how thorough you are in your
responses. It's great to be on a listserv with you.

I have read Rogers' book, and do find it a great resource. Yes, any
electrical appliance whether FIR or steam is going to expose someone to
EMFs, but that exposure would be the same in either case.

I haven't actually tried a FIR sauna, so I really can't speak from
experience. I've just decided, for myself, to proceed on the side of
caution. Steaming is such an ancient practice found in all corners of the
globe, I feel quite safe using it. FIR doesn't have quite the same history
behind it. I do know there are some exciting advances in the use of FIR
for a variety of health issues, but usually the treatments are of much
shorter duration than what would be used to cause one to sweat. Also,
since most of the body's toxicity is thrown off through the bowel, I
haven't felt the need to alter the efficiency of the sweating.

I do continue to keep an open mind about it, though, and if I'm ever
completely convinced of it's safety, I'll add a FIR unit into my cedar
steam cabinet. Perhaps my commitment to "first do no harm" gets a little
extreme ;-). I haven't yet had the time to explore the links, but as soon
as I get my round tuit, I'll be looking at them. Thanks again. You're a
dear.

Cheers,
Robin

Hi Robin

FIR waves are different than microwaves. They have got a higher frequency
and lower wavelength.(I think)

Here is a link to some research but unfortunately the links within the pdf
do not go anywhere now.

Dr Sherry Rogers in her book Detox or Die mentions various pieces of
research but does not give any references to scientifc literature.
I have heard that The Swedish National Institute of Radiation Protection
has concluded that FIR is not dangerous. They tend to be hot on stuff like
this.

Although FIR technology might have been around in Cayce's day I doubt it
was readily available. It has only really become popular much more
recently.

FIR is thought to be 7 times more effective at detoxifying heavy metals,
nicotine, alcohol and environmental toxins than conventional heat or steam
saunas.
You must still be sitting in an electromagnetic field in a steam sauna
don't you think?

Best

Sandy

Hi Folks,

I offer steam sauna in my practice, so this discussion has been very
interesting to me. Many of you know how much I rely on the Cayce
readings to help me make decisions when there isn't enough current
research to convince me. FIR was a technology available in Cayce's day,
so was curious to find out why he consistently recommended steam rather
than FIR for detoxification. I haven't found the answer yet, but I did
find it curious that the FIR wave is very similar to a microwave. I
don't know about anyone else on this list, but I for one don't even use
a microwave to cook my food. So for me, I think I'll stick with steam
sauna until someone convinces me FIR is completely safe.

Cheers,
Robin
