Midwest Lit Fest, Oct. 2-3 Midwest Lit Fest celebrates reading, storytelling, and creativity, designed to inspire young minds to explore their own voices through art and writing. The festival kicks off Oct. 2 at Central Library with author/illustrator visits and a meet & greet with all festival creators! Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. | Midwest Lit Fest: Meet & Greet at Central Library Meet all the talented authors and illustrators visiting the festival, get your books signed, and snap a photo with your favorite creators. Plus, every child will receive a free book written by one of our participating authors, while supplies last.

Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. | Midwest Lit Fest: Raúl the Third Drawing Workshop at South Omaha Library Kids, parents, teachers, and fans! Come meet Raúl the Third, author of the "¡Vamos!" books and illustrator of the "Stuntboy" and "Lowriders" graphic novels. Raúl will lead a drawing workshop for kids in grades K-8. Registration is required.

Meet Your Local Creators at Midwest Lit Fest

Midwest Lit Fest: Danielle Herzog Meet Danielle Herzog, author of "What Are You, Lou?", "The Cassette Tape Secret", and "A Place for Scamper." Danielle works in education (former school counselor) by day, and by night, she's a kid lit writer, freelance writer, speaker, mother. Sign up to attend one of Danielle's events. Midwest Lit Fest: Chloe Burgett Hear from Chloe Burgett, illustrator of the "A to Z Animal Mysteries" and the brand new book about Omaha Central Library, "A Place for Scamper." Chloe lives in Lincoln with her husband and her orange cat, Pencil. Chloe will discuss her books and her journey to becoming an illustrator. Sign up to attend one of Chloe's events.

Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. | Midwest Lit Fest: Skylar Hogan & Kashelle Gourley at Saddlebrook Branch Kids, parents, teachers, and fans! Come meet illustrator Skylar Hogan and author Kashelle Gourley as they talk about the books they created together: "Poe and Lars", "Un-wanted", "I'm Not Missing", and their newly released book "Santa Beware".
