[bowelcleanse] Re: Extreme constipation

I would look into thiamine deficiency. I had no bowel movement in my lower bowel for a year and half and had to do enemas.. One month after starting to take a form of thiamine called allithiamine and I have not had problems since .. { but for sometimes diarrhea due to metabolic glitches } I was unable to tolerate the regular b1 , nor the other form called benfothiamine but try all forms to see if you can tolerate it..

[bowelcleanse] I'm New Here.

I'm thinking of trying Oxy Powder.

Anyone have any experience with it?

Also, how about these water colonics for a quick complete colon cleanse? I'm looking at that also.

My reasoning is to skip the 10 day Oxy cleanse with a colonic and go straight to Oxy maintenance.

(Assuming Oxy works)

Any/all input gratefully received.

[bowelcleanse] Re: the existence of bowel plaque

As far as I can tell, from what I've read, and from evidence seen in mine
and others colonoscopy, plaque is not a common occurrence in at least the
large intestine area of interest when applying home colonic treatments.
What I do suspect to be the case, though is that with so many, colonics
are just fun. Fun to talk about and fun to think about. There is an element
of good health, but most of us wind up overdoing it for the most part, I
think.

[bowelcleanse] false positive

Hi,

I have one concern, I'm not by any means a drug user. However, I bought a colon cleanse kit at a vitamin store a few weeks ago (renew life, the one with the yellow sun picture) as I thought it would be appropriate, I'm trying to lose weight and thought it was a good start for a new diet

I happen to be in the middle of switching jobs and had not ever heard of the way marihuana users use colon cleanse kits in order to pass drug tests. Well it's taking an unusual time for the results to come back and for me to get started at the new job and today I started being concerned about anything that might show because of the consumption of this product. I think the day I took my urine drug test I was still using the colon cleanse kit.

So I googled "colon cleanse drug kit" and found out, that's exactly what people who smoke marihuana use in order to pass drug tests.

Does anyone think that this colon cleanse kit may throw a false positive, or the ingredients will just make my new employer suspicious of why I happened to be on that cleanse the day I went to get my drug test?

This is a very important job for me and I would hate to see myself losing that opportunity unfairly

[bowelcleanse] I Would Like To Share My Success (So Far) With Constipation

In February of 2011 I underwent surgery for colon resection for diverticulitis. The surgery was a success. However I developed constipation issues but I handled them with stool softeners, prune juice and Metamucil and of course lots of water.

About 2 months ago I developed sporadic sharp shooting pains in the area of the surgery. These lasted, on and off, for about a week. They were diagnosed as spasms. I was left with complete constipation.

I tried everything I could think of to get relief and I did get partial relief sometimes. About 2 1/2 weeks ago I had to resort to the ULTIMATE weapon...a 10 oz bottle of ORAL solution magnesium citrate! This was because I was close to 7 days backlog and I was STUFFED! The mag citrate worked it's wonders and I had relief...for awhile.

The cycle started again and I paid a visit to my GI doctor. Let me say here that I had many other symptoms of woe that I have not described here. I told my GI doctor my tale of sorrow and being the regular down-to-earth guy that he is, he told me that I was describing classic IBS-C. He said in so many words, that medical science doesn't have any magic bullets. He said, quite honestly, that sufferers of this are pretty much on their own and if we find something that works then DO IT!

I decided to start on a NEW BLANK PAGE: First I went to see a colonic hydrotherapist. I wanted my colon to be TOTALLY cleaned out before I started my plan. It cost me $100 out-of-pocket but it WAS worth it! I would not have been surprised to see some turkey and stuffing float by from last Thanksgiving.

I immediately started taking 3 caps of Miralax at bedtime and a Oxy Powder capsule upon waking, at Noon and 6 PM.

The result? I am having a BM upon waking and the evening and sometimes afternoons. At present they have the consistency of mud but so what? At least they are BMs and the stuff is COMING OUT!

I will continue to "fine tune" dosages and perhaps add Metamuncil to help with bulking.

My point to all this is that I think my first step in using colonic hydrotherapy to get to a "blank page" played a key role.

Thanks for the links on poop. This past week, I did have some very interesting experiences with poop. Not mine. My dog is almost 15 YO. He as been very healthy during this time. About 2 weeks ago, he had diarrhea, was listless and then could hardly stand up. We took him to the vet. She said he was very poorly nourished although we fed him enough food. She also said he had an enlarged prostate and quite possibly, cancer. She suggested a high protein diet. We got some high protein food for one day and that did not help. Someone suggested a grain free diet with enzymes. We started that this past Tues. and he is doing much better. He has also stopped eating poop.

I am not on a quest to get a bowel implant. I was just curious about it and why they use it as opposed to detox diets, probiotics and other therapies and how they find/screen the donors. Personally, I eat a vegetarian diet that is easy to digest with lots of fruits and veggies and herbs. I use supplements like triphala.
